PL/PDF SDK
Programmatic PDF, PDF/A, PDF/UA, DOCX and XLSX document generation directly from Oracle PL/SQL.
Formerly known as PL/PDF Core.
Native document generation for Oracle
PL/PDF SDK is the core document-generation engine for Oracle and PL/SQL applications. It lets developers create precisely formatted documents directly from database data and business logic without deploying a separate reporting server or application middleware.
Document structure, layout and content are controlled programmatically through PL/SQL. This makes the SDK suitable for applications where developers need detailed control over every part of the generated output.
PL/SQL controlled
Create document content and layout from SQL queries, cursors, PL/SQL procedures, loops, conditions and database-resident business logic.
Multiple output formats
Generate PDF, PDF/A, PDF/UA, Microsoft Word DOCX and Microsoft Excel XLSX documents from Oracle applications.
No external report server
Run document generation inside the Oracle environment without a separate Java application server or dedicated reporting platform.
Designed for developer-controlled layouts
The SDK is intended for projects where document layouts are implemented and maintained in PL/SQL code. Developers can precisely control content placement, pagination, fonts, graphics, security settings and output behavior.
Precise layout control
Control text positioning, tables, cells, images, vector graphics, headers, footers, margins and page breaks directly from PL/SQL.
Dynamic database content
Combine SQL data, PL/SQL business rules, conditions, calculations and database-stored resources in real-time document generation workflows.
Oracle application integration
Use the SDK from stored procedures, scheduled database jobs, Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX and other Oracle-based applications.

Typical use cases
PL/PDF SDK is used for invoices, account statements, certificates, production forms, regulatory documents, database-driven correspondence, printable Oracle APEX output and high-volume batch document generation.
SDK or OffX?
Choose PL/PDF SDK when developers will create and maintain document layouts programmatically in PL/SQL.
Choose PL/PDF OffX when you also need the Microsoft Word template engine. OffX includes the complete SDK, so a separate SDK licence is not required.
Evaluate PL/PDF SDK
Download the SDK package with installation files, documentation and examples, and start generating documents directly from PL/SQL.
Trial mode is limited to five generated pages and applies a trial watermark. A commercial licence key removes these restrictions.
