We would like to post examples of how PL/PDF is used by our customers. Please write a paragraph on how you use PL/PDF and how you benefited from this product and send it to info@plpdf.com.

"Here at NWDLS, Inc. we are using Oracle XE and Application Express to build a complete laboratory information management system (LIMS) specific to their internal business needs. Two copies of PL/PDF were purchased to support all of our reporting and barcode label printing needs. We could not be happier with PL/PDF. The ability to embed PDF reports into Application Express web pages is just great. Not to mention the benefits of being able to write our reports directly in PL/SQL, rather than messing around with XML and FOP, or other external PDF generation solutions. Anyone using Oracle's Application Express who is looking for a reporting solution should give serious consideration to using PL/PDF. Heck, anyone using Oracle who understands PL/SQL should be giving PL/PDF serious consideration.

I've attached a screen shot showing how we use Application Express with an embedded IFRAME to serve up on-demand PDF reports. The IFRAME is calling an Application Express On-Demand process which calls a PL/SQL procedure which produces the report. PL/PDF works so quickly we are able to generate the PDF we need on the fly. Most of the time we don't even store the blob containing the PDF data in the database, unless we are specifically storing a report for later use that can't be easily regenerated."

"We are a government state agency for the state of Oklahoma named Public Employees Retirement. We developed a payroll reporting application using Oracle Application Express (formerly HTMLDB) and PL/PDF.
Application Express provides a convenient way for our clients to report their retirement contributions and PL/PDF provides the clients a PDF report of their contributions that they can browse and save. PL/PDF is
totally managed in the Oracle database. The PL/PDF procedures that create the PDF reports are compiled in the database and access rights are assigned with Oracle grants. The installation and use of PL/PDF helped us get this website going quickly.

We are also planning on using the barcode feature in PL/PDF to include bar codes on forms we mail out to members. When the forms are returned, they will be digitized and the document imaging system will read the bar code and store the document with the index information in the bar code. We found that bar codes fonts can cost as much as PL/PDF."

Hireserve provides a complete e-recruitment solution: the Internet Candidate Management System (iCams). This application stores data from online job application forms in an Oracle database for tracking and reporting. PL/PDF has enabled us to allow the printing of the candidates' application forms in a user-friendly format, formatted for paper printing rather than viewing on screen. It has also enabled the option of having report output saved in the database as a PDF document, which can then be viewed at any time.
